2/28/12: Below, panels from a new retelling of one of the earliest published HUGO stories, to be released under the Comix Company banner (link for Adults Only)! More news to come!

2/3/12:

Character sketches. My objective: to create credible black caricatures evoking a time period when few were doing them.

2/3/12: Last year, I did two comics adaptations of short plays by Zora Neale Hurston, Harlem Renaissance author. The first, FILLING STATION, appears in the current volume of the GRAPHIC CLASSICS series, titled AFRICAN AMERICAN CLASSICS. You can find out more about it, and order it, at the GC website. Here are a few panels from this 14 page strip:

My second  Hurston adaptation is for the third volume of a set called THE GRAPHIC CANON, due out from Seven Stories Press in spring or summer of 2012.

Trying to communicate through sections and rear views of heads. Done without reference, straight from the brain! (I'm especially satisfied with the third from left.)

MORE UPDATES SOON!
